This guide covers day-to-day usage of Cogitus in the terminal UI.

Core Concepts

  • Idea: the main record with title, body, group, and tags.
  • Group: a tree section that organizes ideas.
  • Tag: lightweight cross-cutting label used in search and filtering.

Typical Workflow

  1. Create a new idea with n.
  2. Add title/body/tags/group.
  3. Save with Ctrl+S.
  4. Re-open and edit with e.
  5. Search ideas with /.
  6. Copy body/selection with y.
